Pencil Lead Carving
As part of my expanding exploration into miniature art, I have begun practicing micro lead carving—a precise and demanding technique that involves sculpting graphite pencil tips using fine blades and magnification tools. This discipline requires extreme control, patience, and an understanding of material behaviour at a micro scale. Currently in the early stages of this practice, I have experimented with carving alphabets, symbols, and small forms such as a heart, using standard graphite pencils as a medium. Micro lead carving complements my broader interest in mechanics, scale, and precision—and reflects my ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of what can be engineered by hand.
