Project Type: Micro Paper Cutting Jewellery
Year: 2021
Description
My practice in micro paper cutting focuses on precision-based handcraft, where intricate designs are cut from single sheets of paper at a miniature scale. Using a precision knife and magnification tools, I create detailed motifs such as butterflies, roses, and dragons, exploring the limits of form, fragility, and dimensionality within paper. Beyond static pieces, I have begun engineering sculptural jewellery from these micro cuts—treating and hardening the paper to produce durable, wearable pendants. This process merges traditional craftsmanship with experimental material use, transforming ephemeral designs into tactile, long-lasting objects.
Materials
Crafted from premium quality paper coated to harden and made water-resistant for durability, paired with a sterling silver chain.
